Bravery & Brevity: Week 3

What's up readers? This is Edward with Acclivity Publishing, and author of the upcoming poetry project titled Bravery & Brevity, a 155-page, Five chapter love letter to YOU.

In this week's update, we're going to talk about chapter 2: "The Healing" Honestly, this is one of my favorite chapters of the book because I'm able to express through prose and metered pieces the importance of healing, specifically from shame, abuse, and addiction to name a few. Guys, trauma happens. Unfortunate circumstances hit us out of nowhere and we often begin to wonder "If God is really good, then why me?" My healing process isn't complete, but bitterness and personal shame from past decisions are being molded in the hands of God to this day. Today I can rest in the fact that I no longer need to hold onto the things that hurt me and cause me harm. Through my experiences in various ministries (pulpit, street, and student) from 2010-2019, I've come to the conclusion that we really need to be honest that we've not "arrived" and we're all bruised and hurting souls that need a little more Jesus every day. I'm excited to share more with you in time, but until then, stay brave!

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." ~ Isaiah 41:10
