WHY DID I WRITE THIS BOOK? What's going on, readers? This is Edward with Acclivity Publishing, author of Bravery & Brevity, Fingerprints of Love & War and other things that provide me with 3.5 nightly hours of seep. Today I want to talk about Why I wrote a poetry book.
There's an agenda to every book I write (no, not the sinister ones) and when it comes to creative writing, I want to encourage and drive every one of my readers. If my readers are going to invest time and money to read something, it needs to be trans-formative. I want to get something from what I read.
The book has a structure, beginning with mountain-top encouragement of Hope and Healing from trauma (Chapters 1-2) and ending with love and praise. (Chapters 4-5)
However in the center, (Chapter 3) we descend into a valley with the biggest chapter bringing the reader back to reality between our mountains of praise. We'll discuss a many topics we somehow shy away from in the modern church and as an active minister of 10 years, this is alarming to me.
So I did something about it. I wrote another book, that I pray both encourages your heart and disturbs the comfort we've all created.
Starting next week we'll discuss each chapter in depth to give you more insight.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Until next time,
Edward
